Yorkshire Wedding Photographer at leeds town hall during covid-19
2020 has been a strange year so far, hasn’t it! We’ve seen the country go into lockdown, work as we know it change, and the country slowly adjusting to the ‘new normal’. But Saturday brought some normality back for me, at least under new conditions, with the wedding of Joe + Holly at Leeds Town Hall. It felt good to be back doing what I do, having something to offer once more; even if all I could offer was photographing the amazing Joe + Holly’s wedding. There was certainly something unique about documenting two amazing people tie the knot in the company of their closest and dearest to the backdrop of an almost imploding world: a ‘piss-off COVID’ moment, if you will; that love is important no matter where, or when, you find it. To geek out a little more, looking back on it now it reminds me of the wedding of Bill and Fleur, in Harry Potter, set to the backdrop of an impending crisis and social change. But enough of me going on wild romantic notions!
We started at Quebecs Hotel in Leeds City Centre. Before walking up to the Town Hall. After photos on the steps we headed to Hyde Park Corner for a beautifully relaxed back garden reception. Below is a small Sneak Peak from Saturday.
I wasn’t allowed in the ceremony room but, either because of the humidity or to allow for extra air circulation due to COVID, they left the back door open which allowed me to capture this shot below of the first kiss.
Thank you to Joe + Holly for inviting me into their world and getting to share this experience with them and their family. I can’t wait for you to see the full gallery!
